Job summary

Knife River Northwest is seeking an experienced asphalt plant operator and supervisor to lead plant operations, oversee maintenance, and ensure safe, efficient production. The role requires coordinating schedules, communicating with customers, and adhering to quality standards.

Candidate should have 2+ years of asphalt plant experience, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to work in various shifts, including nights and weekends during paving season. Travel between plants may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' experience in asphalt plant operation.
• Ability to monitor multiple plant systems for quality and profitability.
• Ability to work in high and confined spaces.
• Good math, planning, organization, and observation skills.
• Ability to read specifications, operator manuals, and logs.
• Mechanical ability with welding, fabrication, and troubleshooting.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and trains operators and maintenance techs.
• Directs maintenance, repairs and plant operations.
• Operates and maintains asphalt plant safely and efficiently.
• Manages schedules and daily duties for plant personnel.
• Communicates daily orders and needs with customers.
• Tracks inventories of incoming and outgoing products.
• Participates in quality control and safety programs.
• Operates equipment and performs plant maintenance as directed.
