Salt Lake City Corporation seeks an Asphalt Equipment Operator II to perform maintenance, repair and asphalt applications within a crew. Under supervision, operate a range of light-to-medium equipment and assist with traffic control setup and community notice of construction.

The role includes transport of materials, routine maintenance, and potential training of seasonal staff, with snow removal duties during winter and a clear career ladder.

Qualifications

• Two years' related work experience including equipment operation.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to work with co-workers, supervisors and the public.

Responsibilities

• Operate light-to-medium construction equipment.
• Set up traffic control per regulations.
• Transport signs, barricades, and materials to job sites.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on equipment.
