Job summary

University of Arizona is seeking a Sr. Interpreter/Transliterator (Part Time) to provide ASL interpretation and transliteration in fast-paced academic settings. The role requires expert ASL and English proficiency and adherence to RID/BEI codes of conduct.

Duties include preparing content, delivering interpretations for events, and supporting academic activities. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree or higher and at least 8 years of experience; a Master's and BEI/RID certification

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning required.
• Minimum of 8 years relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• National RID certification or BEI preferred.
• Experience in academic/educational settings preferred.
• Master's degree in related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide ASL interpretation and transliterating in academic settings.
• Prepare for assignments by reviewing relevant content for courses, meetings, and conferences.
• May develop technical sign materials for classroom use.
• Convert material from one language to another while preserving meaning.
• Submit timesheets, maintain schedules, and complete required trainings.
