Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking an ASIC Engineering Technical Leader to drive end-to-end system validation for next-generation networking platforms. This onsite role in San Jose requires coordinating hardware, firmware, and software validation, with strong leadership across cross-functional teams.

The candidate will develop automated test frameworks, validate performance at scale, and mentor engineers while working closely with ASIC and hardware design teams to ensure quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in ASIC bring-up, system validation, networking test, or hardware/software integration
• Experience with Linux systems and debugging tools
• Programming/scripting experience (Python, C/C++, or similar)
• Hands-on experience with system-level debugging and familiarity with lab equipment like multimeters and oscilloscopes
• Experience with Test Data Analysis and familiarity with tools like jmp, pandas or other data analysis tools

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end system validation across hardware, firmware, and software stacks.
• Define and execute system-level validation strategies for complex networking platforms.
• Develop automated test frameworks using Python, C/C++, or similar languages.
• Build scalable validation environments for high-throughput networking systems.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.
• Debug complex issues spanning ASICs, firmware, drivers, and network OS.
• Collaborate with ASIC, hardware design, software, and architecture teams.
