Cognizant is seeking a Senior SYNON/AS400 Developer to design, develop, and support critical applications in an AS400 environment. You will collaborate with analysts, leads, QA, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software across the lifecycle.

The role emphasizes full SDLC participation, production support, and successful deployments. We offer flexible work arrangements with a remote-friendly setup for qualified applicants in the Richardson, TX area.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in AS400/IBM i development environments.
• Hands-on RPGLE and RPGILE programming.
• Proficiency in CLLE development and system-level programming.
• Experience using SYNON.
• Full software development lifecycle experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business analysts and technical leads to clarify requirements and define technical solutions.
• Analyze business needs and prepare technical designs, estimates, and development plans.
• Develop, review, and enhance applications using AS400 technologies including RPGLE, RPGILE, CLLE, and SYNON.
• Create and execute unit test plans, resolve defects, and support QA and regression testing activities.
• Support deployments, production releases, and post-implementation activities to ensure stable and successful solution delivery.
