Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Architectural SME for data centers nationwide, with flexibility to align to a Jacobs office. The role combines architectural leadership with client-facing responsibilities across hyperscale, colocation, and mission-critical facilities.

You will guide design quality, coordinate MEP and building systems, and drive innovation in modularization and sustainability while mentoring teams and contributing to strategic pursuits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture; licensed RA.
• 20+ years architectural experience, including 15+ years in mission-critical or data center environments.
• Expertise in site planning, building envelope systems, modular construction, and BIM coordination.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, accessibility standards, and sustainability frameworks.
• Proven ability to apply technical innovation to solve complex client challenges.
• Experience leading architectural delivery and coordinating highly complex MEP, telecommunications, security, and operational infrastructure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior architectural authority across multiple programs, guiding design quality and consistency.
• Shape upfront planning strategies with hyperscale clients and lead site/building design.
• Drive innovation in modularization, envelope systems, sustainability, and integrated building systems.
• Represent Jacobs in client engagements, industry forums, and strategic pursuits.
• Mentor architects across the data center practice and support thought leadership.
