Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Chief Engineer for Space Vehicle Autonomy to lead the architecture and maturation of autonomous decision‑making for satellite platforms. You will bridge traditional autonomy engineering with AI/ML and perception techniques, integrating Space Domain Awareness into the autonomy stack.

The role requires defining technical direction, overseeing trade-offs, and serving as final technical authority on autonomy and SDA across programs, with national security satellite focus.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or related field.
• 20+ years of advanced spacecraft design, development, or analysis experience.
• Demonstrated experience as a technical authority or chief engineer on complex spacecraft/autonomy programs.
• Security clearance: TS/SCI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for space vehicle autonomy and define architecture and strategy for onboard decision-making.
• Lead autonomy architecture combining deterministic and AI/ML approaches and ensure SDA integration.
• Oversee verification strategies across SIL/HIL test campaigns and risk-adequate maturation.
