Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a spacecraft autonomy and controls engineer to develop on-board autonomy algorithms, control strategies, and flight software. You will derive requirements, build models, and verify functionality across simulations and real-time systems.

The role focuses on autonomy development for spacecraft and requires strong MATLAB/Simulink skills, collaboration across GN&C teams, and a commitment to safety and mission success.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
  • Experience in modeling and simulation of autonomy and controls.
  • Familiarity with flight management, guidance, control, navigation and astrodynamics.
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Derive and develop autonomy requirements and validate with analyses.
  • Collaborate with GN&C and other subsystems for models.
  • Build control code in Simulink for autocoding.
  • Develop, execute simulations and verification tools.
  • Analyze and unit test control and autonomy algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Support verification and testing to ensure requirements compliance.
