Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking talented and motivated architects to expand our design studio, offering an opportunity to take on greater responsibility and growth in creative concepts, detailed design, client development, and project management. We are a national top 125 Architecture and Engineering firm serving federal and municipal clients.

Key responsibilities include leading design development, coordinating with internal and external teams, and contributing to proposals.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance or active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.
• U.S. Citizen with valid U.S. Passport.
• Accredited Professional Degree in Architecture (Bachelor or Master).
• 16+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficient with Federal and Department of Defense design standards and project conventions.
• Must possess strong design and technical skills; motivated to develop superior architecture.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience creating graphics for building design presentations.
• Candidates should be self-motivated, detail-oriented and thorough in client service.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficient with Microsoft Project, Excel and Word.
• Substantial experience in construction documentation and building detailing.
• Experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketchup and other graphics programs desirable.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and lead various phases of architectural projects, including design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
• Collaborate in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment with in-house and external consultants.
• Manage project scope, budget, and schedule under supervision of senior architects or project managers.
• Contribute to project design through sketches, 3D modeling, and development of practical solutions.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful delivery.
• Conduct code analysis, material research, and specification writing.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• Support business development activities through proposal input and project presentations.
• Participate in project-related travel within the region (within 400 miles), with occasional international travel as needed.
