Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced Architect to lead design elements and coordinate multi-disciplinary project content across teams in the Chicago, IL or Pittsburgh, PA offices. The role requires steering technical deliverables, ensuring design intent, and compliant project documentation.

Qualified candidates will have a US architectural license, 8+ years of experience, and proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, and the Adobe Suite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in architecture or related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience.
• Current US architectural registration.
• CDT and LEED accreditation preferred.
• Knowledge of building codes.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Business acumen and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead some elements of design, production, coordination, and architectural detailing as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• May lead and assist in coordination of engineering systems with engineers and consultants; actively partner with Design Leadership to carry through design intent; and coordinate with all other team members on project assignments and documents.
• Prepare design sketches of moderate to complex site plans.
• Communicate project status, design intent, construction updates, and other critical information to the owner(s), consultants, and clients.
• Participate in Business Development activities and partner with Marketing and Office Leadership to help grow top line.
• Perform field site observations and site visits.
• Facilitate integration of performance-based and sustainable design strategies into design solutions.
• Contribute to technical quality via QA/QC and ensure statutory requirements are met.
• Provide guidance to interns and mentor less experienced team members.
