Job summary

Wasabi in the United States is hiring an Architect for Object Storage & Database Systems. You will shape the architecture of Wasabi's storage platform, with a focus on S3 core services and database roadmap. This role blends design, prototyping, and hands-on engineering to address AI-driven usage growth.

You will collaborate with senior engineers and leaders to drive scalable, reliable systems, solving complex problems in storage, metadata, and distributed architecture.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering or distributed systems experience.
• Deep hands-on AWS S3 experience.
• Expert knowledge of relational, NoSQL, and distributed databases.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts.
• Proficient in programming languages (C/C++, Go, Java, Python).
• Proven experience designing highly scalable systems.
• Strong Linux, networking, and performance debugging.
• Excellent communication and technical leadership.
• Understanding of AI technologies in storage and databases.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical solutioning and analysis for Wasabi's roadmap, focusing on AI-related workloads.
• Design and influence architecture of large-scale object storage, databases, and metadata systems.
• Serve as a technical expert in AWS S3 and S3-compatible storage, including APIs and consistency models.
• Build proofs of concept and hand off to production teams with supporting analysis.
• Evaluate and improve database architectures (relational, NoSQL, distributed).
• Troubleshoot performance, reliability, and data consistency across storage and systems.
• Research new storage and database technologies and recommend optimal solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers to define long-term technical direction and mentor team members.
