Job summary

ERM is seeking a Senior Consultant, Field Lead Archaeologist to lead fieldwork and regulatory analysis across the Southwestern states. The role blends field and office work in a dynamic project-driven environment, with travel up to 75% and emphasis on culturally significant resource stewardship.

You will drive investigations, prepare agency-ready reports, and collaborate with regulators while supporting project planning and environmental decisions.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required or equivalent field experience.
• 3+ years (4+ preferred) of professional archaeological experience.
• Field Lead experience in the Southwest.
• Eligible for cultural resource permits (BLM/ARPA/state permits).
• Knowledge of NHPA Section 106 regulations.
• Experience authoring technical reports.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% and lift up to 50 lbs.
• RPA designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological surveys, testing, data recovery, and construction monitoring.
• Prepare technical report sections for investigations and environmental documents.
• Perform archival and desktop research to support project analyses.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies including SHPO and BLM.
• Support environmental permitting and compliance processes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (planners, biologists, GIS specialists, engineers).
• Represent ERM in client, stakeholder, and agency interactions.
• Contribute to business development and growth in cultural heritage services.
