ERM is seeking a Senior Consultant, Field Lead Archaeologist to shape cultural resource stewardship across the United States. The role combines fieldwork with regulatory analysis, contributing to responsible development and environmental decision-making.

You will lead surveys, write reports, and collaborate with agencies like SHPO and BLM, while supporting permitting and cross-functional teams in a dynamic consulting setting. Strong travel, field fitness, and NHPA knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; 3+ years (4+ preferred) professional experience; Field Lead in the Southwest; eligibility for BLM/ARPA/state permits; strong knowledge of Arizona cultural resource regulations including NHPA Section 106; experience authoring agency-reviewed technical reports; ability to lead field efforts independently or in a multidisciplinary team; willingness to travel within the United States; fieldwork up to 75% during peak season; ability to walk long distances and lift up to 50 lbs; experience with GPS, GIS, mapping tools.

Responsabilités

• Conduct archaeological surveys, testing, data recovery, and construction monitoring.
• Prepare technical report sections for cultural resource investigations and environmental documents.
• Perform archival and desktop research to support project analyses.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies including SHPO and BLM.
• Support environmental permitting and compliance processes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (planners, biologists, GIS specialists, engineers).
• Represent ERM in client, stakeholder, and agency interactions.
• Contribute to business development and growth in cultural heritage services.
