Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Technical Consultant, Archaeologist to lead multidisciplinary archaeological projects and guide high-performing teams across the United States. You will strengthen client relationships, expand ERM's cultural resources market, and mentor archaeologists while navigating regulatory requirements.

The role emphasizes leadership, project management, business development, and collaboration with ERM's global organization, with travel within the United States as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field, plus 8+ years of paid experience.
• Ability to obtain archaeological and cultural resource permits.
• Experience as primary author on agency-reviewed technical reports.
• Strong documentation and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee literature reviews, field reconnaissance, surveys, and excavations for archaeological studies.
• Provide technical consulting to grow ERM's archaeology and cultural heritage business.
• Interact with other ERM practice areas to share resources and best practices.
• Represent ERM in meetings with state, federal, and local agencies.
• Lead, manage, and mentor personnel for technical team success.
• Capitalize on client relationships to expand ERM's presence in Cultural Resources.
