Job summary

Tetra Tech Inc. is seeking a Staff Archaeologist for our Federal NEPA, NHPA, and Environmental Compliance team.

This remote role requires travel across the Western United States and Pacific/Oceania regions, with a focus on field, reporting, and project management tasks for DoD and other federal contracts. The candidate should meet the Secretary of the Interior's standards, hold a Master's in Anthropology/Archaeology, and have at least four years of cultural resource management experience,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Anthropology/Archaeology.

Responsibilities

• Serve a leading role in the preparation of all work plans, letter reports, and technical reports; ensure accuracy of site recordation and data collection; oversee the execution of survey, site testing, data recovery, and monitoring.
• Interface with DoD, land agencies, and subcontractors.
• Interface with Native American Tribes, Pacific Islanders, Native Hawaiian Organizations, and Tribal Cultural Specialists to record sites of cultural or religious significance.
• Support Section 106 consultation with SHPOs, THPOs, and other stakeholders.
• Report on the daily work of crew chiefs, field directors, and field crews and interface with project managers.
• Provide technical guidance and QA/QC of field data from large archaeological survey crews.
• Coordinate technical crew members to complete tasks; field director duties may be required.
• Assist with training and mentoring staff on Section 106, historic contexts, and site recording protocols.
• Develop, track, and maintain field schedules.
• Conduct activities per procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain discipline and knowledge.
