Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an Archaeological Field Director to lead field investigations across the Pacific Northwest, including survey, monitoring, testing, and data recovery. You will supervise crews and coordinate with Principal Investigators, agencies, and clients to ensure safe, compliant project execution.

The role requires CRM experience, field leadership, GPS/GIS data collection, and the ability to travel for extended field assignments.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field.
  • Completion of an accredited archaeological field school.
  • 1–3 years of professional CRM experience.
  • 1–2 years as a crew lead with field project coordination.
  • Proficiency with GPS units and related data collection tools.
  • Strong technical writing and editing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead archaeological fieldwork (monitoring, surveying, testing, data recovery).
  • Provide day-to-day coordination to field crews.
  • Document and map cultural resources in the field.
  • Collect GPS data and conduct digital field photography.
  • Coordinate with agencies, clients, and Tribal representatives.
  • Manage field and post-field data and documentation.
