Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks an Accountant VI for Accounts Receivable in Austin, TX. The role reports to the AR Director and collaborates with CFO and AR teams to record revenue and refunds accurately.

Responsibilities include maintaining AR statements, processing funds moves, and preparing internal and external AR reports. Excellent GAAP knowledge and state-government accounting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP and procedures for accounting records.
• Experience with governmental accounting and fiscal operations.
• Ability to prepare high-level accounting reports and dashboards.
• Experience using CAPPS/PeopleSoft/ARTS/USAS systems.

Responsibilities

• Attends regular work schedule and may require overtime as needed.
• Perform advanced accounting work and ensure accuracy of AR data.
• Create and maintain AR reports using SQL, Crystal Reports, Excel, and pivot tables.
• Balance financial statements and process cash deposits and refunds.
