Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. seeks a Senior Aquatic Designer/Business Development to lead design from concept to completion for pools, natatoriums, water parks, and aquatic facilities across multiple markets, including Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta, Houston, and Miami.

You’ll build strong client relationships, guide junior designers, develop proposals, and pursue new business opportunities while ensuring design quality and compliance with the Owner’s vision.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Science, or related technical field.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in document production, client development, problem solving and QA/QC within the Aquatic engineering field.
• Proficiency in discipline-based software (REVIT, AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative work ethic.
• Expert working knowledge of aquatic engineering discipline with strong expertise in design drawing layout.
• Strong problem‑solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead aquatic design efforts from concept through completion, while building and sustaining strong client relationships and turning new business opportunities into active projects.
• Oversee the research, preparation, and creation of contract or construction drawings using REVIT, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Provide direct guidance and supervision to junior designers on project drawing production, ensuring quality and consistency across all project work.
• Examine complex contract documents and drawings for errors, revising as needed to align with contract specifications and ensuring they meet the desired program and Owner’s vision.
• Support the development of technical reports, construction estimations, and production schedules.
• Conduct and participate in project QA/QC review meetings and coordinate deliverables to clients.
• Lead and assist in the preparation of proposals for potential projects.
• Assist in identifying and developing new business leads through research, networking, and outreach.
• Support and participate in business development visits with prospective clients to build and foster relationships while exploring opportunities.
