Job summary

Qualifications

• Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field.
• Experience with application systems and problem resolution in a healthcare environment.
• Strong analytical and programming skills for system interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Orient and train new employees; schedule and guide staff; contribute to performance appraisals.
• Meet with personnel from user departments, IS staff and vendors to define and resolve application system problems.
• Analyze problems and determine efficient and economical programming solutions.
• Develop specifications for software applications; design, code, test, debug, document and install software programs; test and update with new releases.
• Evaluate new software products for fit with current and future hardware/software environments.
• Coordinate testing and installation of new software packages and modifications from vendors.
• Design, program, test and install interfaces among systems with disparate configurations.
• Maintain and enhance existing software via maintenance releases and vendor utilities.
• Prepare manuals and training materials and train user personnel on systems.
