Job summary

Brown University Health seeks an Applications Analyst to analyze and program for the selection, implementation and ongoing support of application software and interfaces, ensuring a high-value, accessible information network.

The role reports to the Application System Manager and requires collaboration with Information Services, users and vendors, with supervisory responsibilities for up to 3 FTE. A BS/BA and 3 years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, business or related field required.
• At least three years of programming and systems design experience.
• Functional supervision of up to 3 FTEs may be required.

Responsibilities

• Orient and train new employees; schedule assigned staff; provide guidance and counsel.
• Interact with user departments, IS staff and vendors to define and resolve problems.
• Analyze problems and determine efficient programming solutions; develop specifications.
• Design, code, test, debug, document and install software programs.
• Test and update software with new releases; coordinate vendor testing.
• Design, program, test and install interfaces among disparate systems.
• Maintain manuals and training materials and train users.
• Manage complex IS projects and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
