Job summary

Brown University Health seeks an experienced professional to analyze, design and implement application software and interfaces to support an integrated information network for patients and staff.

Under the Application System Manager, this role leads development, testing and deployment of software, supervises up to 3 staff, and collaborates with user departments to resolve system problems and enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree equivalence accepted via combination of computer-related training and increasing information systems management responsibility.
• Three years experience in programming and systems design.
• Supervisory responsibility for up to 3 FTEs with guidance, scheduling and performance input.

Responsibilities

• Orient and train new employees; schedule assigned employees; provide guidance and counsel to employees.
• Define and resolve application system problems with user departments and vendors.
• Develop specifications for software applications; design, code, test, debug, document and install software programs.
• Test and update software products with new releases.
• Coordinate testing and installation of new software packages and modifications from vendors.
• Design, program, test and install interfaces among systems with disparate hardware and software configurations.
• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge by attending seminars and reading professional literature.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field
