Job summary

J&T Business Consulting seeks a senior Applications Engineer (Level 4) to design software tools and lead enterprise applications engineering at Fort Meade, MD. You will sustain mission-critical security tool suites, monitor health, and guide task personnel through full lifecycle development and deployment.

Responsibilities include AoA, ECPs, vulnerability analyses, and integrating COTS/GOTS solutions for interoperable cloud and on-prem systems. Strong leadership and security focus are required.

Qualifications

• Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with a current Polygraph.
• Core Engineering & Tool Sustainment: Experience monitoring, maintaining, and upgrading enterprise security tools and related databases.
• Vulnerability & Gap Analysis: Proven ability to perform gap analyses and evaluate COTS/GOTS cybersecurity products.
• System Integration: Designing GUI/web interfaces, implementing access controls, and integrating data ingestion pipelines with scanning tools.
• Full‑Lifecycle Leadership: Managing software configurations, authoring ECPs, leading QA evaluations, and training end users.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor, maintain, upgrade, and patch security tool suites and NISIRT systems for 24/7 readiness.
• Perform vulnerability analyses and gap analyses across tool suites; evaluate replacements.
• Conduct AoA and author Technical Analysis packages and ECPs for government review.
• Design, code, test, and document custom software tools, front-ends, and GUIs to streamline workflows.
• Integrate COTS/GOTS software and hardware for full interoperability across cloud and on‑prem architectures.
• Define and implement robust access controls and security interfaces; guide engineering efforts.
