Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to develop technical solutions and proposals for custom industrial equipment involving vacuum impregnation technology. You will work closely with customers to understand parts, processes, and objectives, translating them into practical equipment concepts with limited hands-on design work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in custom equipment or engineered systems.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Strong ability to translate customer requirements into equipment concepts.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to understand manufacturing processes and define equipment requirements.
• Review specifications, RFQs, drawings, and technical requirements to identify solutions.
• Develop equipment concepts and system solutions for new applications including vacuum impregnation tech.
• Prepare clear project scopes, technical proposals, and preliminary cost estimates.
• Support project estimating with historical costs, quotes, and vendor input.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Controls, and Service teams.
