Job summary

HRU Technical Resources seeks an Application Engineer to lead pre-sale efforts for custom industrial automation systems. You will work with Sales, Engineering, and customers to define concepts, prepare estimates, and ensure a smooth handoff to project teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in automation, strong CAD skills, and the ability to translate needs into practical solutions that meet profitability goals. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 5+ years in industrial automation.
• Experience with robotics, conveyors, PLCs, vision systems, and safety standards.
• Proficient in SolidWorks; AutoCAD for 2D layouts.
• Ability to translate customer needs into cost-effective automation solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-sale efforts for custom automation systems.
• Develop conceptual automation solutions with Sales and Engineering.
• Prepare cost estimates and technical proposals.
• Coordinate handoff of awarded projects to project execution.
• Support Sales Engineers in customer meetings.
