Job summary

CSG Talent is supporting a leading water treatment technology company in the search for an Application Engineer. The role involves preparing technical and commercial proposals, delivering best-in-class application solutions, and managing the bidding process in collaboration with Regional Sales Managers.

Ideal candidates will combine technical know-how with commercial acumen, review specifications, prepare cost analyses, and ensure timely handovers to project teams.

Qualifications

• Strong technical and commercial communication skills across management, sales, legal, vendors, and customer engineers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Familiar with Salesforce.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively within a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical scopes and commercial proposals and complete bid packages.
• Review project specifications, equipment requirements, selections, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Recommend and support technical solutions based on customer requirements.
• Size and select engineered systems and equipment to meet specifications.
• Review Terms & Conditions with legal to ensure policy compliance.
• Create detailed cost analysis for custom equipment and systems.
• Generate equipment pricing from cost estimates maintaining margins.
• Maintain approval levels and sign-off procedures.
• Keep equipment price lists updated with vendor pricing.
• Support regulatory and technical issues related to sales or service projects.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations on plans and specs.
• Prepare handover documentation for awarded projects to PM, Engineering, Operations.
• Attend technical customer meetings during tendering.
