Job summary

Genuine Search Group seeks a motivated Application Engineer to support the development of custom industrial automation solutions from inquiry through proposal and handoff. You will review customer requirements, develop technical solutions, prepare cost estimates and quotations, and respond to RFPs and RFQs.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial automation, custom machinery, or related manufacturing environment.
• Experience preparing technical quotations, cost estimates and customer proposals.
• Experience reviewing and responding to RFPs, RFQs and detailed customer specifications.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, equipment layouts, and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quotations and cost estimates for custom automation machinery and systems.
• Review RFPs/RFQs and ensure proposals meet requirements.
• Evaluate customer applications and develop preliminary automation concepts.
• Develop proposals outlining functionality, scope, assumptions, exclusions, deliverables and costs.
• Collaborate with customers, sales, and engineering teams to clarify requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate pricing for components, fabrication, and controls to estimate costs.
• Review drawings and develop layouts using CAD as needed.
• Coordinate with engineering, purchasing, and project teams to validate feasibility and scope.
• Handoff proposal details to project execution after order acceptance.
• Maintain estimating tools and historical project cost data for improved accuracy.
