Job summary

EPAM Systems Inc. is seeking a Senior Application Support Engineer to ensure reliable operation of critical web applications across a complex environment. You will troubleshoot incidents end-to-end, monitor systems, and support deployments and on-call coverage.

You will analyze Java logs, run advanced SQL queries, and collaborate in Jira and Confluence to document runbooks and communicate status to clients across shifts and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of application support in a medium-to-large environment.
• Strong Core Java troubleshooting and log analysis.
• 3+ years of hands-on SQL querying.
• ITSM processes for incidents, problems, and changes.
• Familiarity with Elastic logs and APM tooling.
• Experience with CI/CD and Jenkins pipelines.
• Cloud experience with GCP.
• Windows IIS admin knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Resolve incidents with end-to-end troubleshooting across web, app, and DB layers.
• Analyze Java logs to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Execute advanced SQL queries to validate data and support investigations.
• Follow ITSM/ITIL practices with clear documentation.
• Monitor systems using Elastic logs and APM to detect anomalies.
• Operate and validate Jenkins pipelines to support deployments.
• Collaborate in Jira and Confluence to track work and runbooks.
• Support releases and on-call coverage across shifts.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to restore service and communicate with clients.
• Capture diagnostic artifacts such as HAR files and SSL/HTTP traces when needed.
