Abbott is a global healthcare leader seeking a Sr. Application Scientist, Technical Services to provide expert technical support and lead product/process enhancements. On-site in Madison, WI, you will troubleshoot assay issues, design experiments, generate technical reports, and train customers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or field as outlined in the essential duties.
10+ years of experience in the life sciences industry.
5+ years in molecular diagnostic or clinical laboratory.
5+ years in next generation sequencing.
Advanced proficiency with molecular biology techniques and Real-Time PCR.
Knowledge of CAP, CLIA, IVDR, and FDA regulations.
Statistical and mathematical methods in biology/genetics.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Receive and document incoming customer communications.
Troubleshoot customer questions related to reagents, consumables, and assay issues.
Lead troubleshooting through root cause investigation and data analysis.
Conduct bench level experiments across product areas.
Prepare technical experiment reports and present to supervisors.
Develop training materials and train customers.
Coordinate with development/marketing for new product implementation.
Communicate customer feedback to development for product design.
Identify process gaps and implement improvements.
Draft and distribute customer communications and bulletins.
Lead complex projects and participate in core teams.
Train and mentor team members.
