Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Sr. Application Scientist, Technical Services to provide top-tier technical support to customers in Madison, WI.

You will troubleshoot assay issues, lead product improvements, and participate in new product development, working onsite to ensure timely resolutions and strong customer satisfaction. You will conduct bench experiments, develop training materials, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement new products with robust technical input and VOC feedback.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field.
• 10+ years in life sciences industry.
• 5+ years in molecular diagnostics or clinical labs.
• 5+ years in next generation sequencing.
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques and qPCR assays.
• Knowledge of CAP, CLIA, IVDR, and FDA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding technical support to Abbott customers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve assay questions and issues.
• Lead projects to enhance products and processes.
• Conduct bench level experiments across product areas.
• Prepare technical reports and training materials.
• Train customers and internal staff on procedures.
• Collaborate with development and marketing for new products.
• Draft and distribute customer communications and technical bulletins.
• Travel up to 35% as needed.
