Job summary

Texas Water Development Board seeks a senior-level professional to administer the daily operations of the Application Development Team. You will guide technical direction, supervise staff, and ensure lifecycle processes and regulatory compliance across projects.

You will evaluate technologies, manage budgets, and collaborate with stakeholders to align IT initiatives with the agency’s water-security goals. This on-site role emphasizes leadership and cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Seven years of relevant experience managing software development teams.
• Five years of progressive experience as a software developer using .NET Framework or Open-source technologies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage project activities within the team, providing technical direction and guidance.
• Ensure development processes and lifecycle methods are followed across projects.
• Ensure compliance with agency rules and project delivery framework.
• Interact with customers at various levels and provide excellent service.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and determine build-vs-buy decisions.
• Align projects, applications, and resources with agency goals and objectives.
• Lead and motivate the Development Team and monitor performance against goals.
• Authorize hiring, separations, and performance rewards as needed.
