Job summary

Freddie Mac is seeking software engineers for applications development, prototyping, modeling and high level technical consulting in McLean, VA. The role often involves project leadership and acting as the principal customer contact on contracts. Multiple open positions; some roles may be eligible for part-time telecommuting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a software engineering occupation.
• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field plus 3 years of experience in a software engineering occupation.
• Employer will accept any combination of education that has been evaluated by a professional credentials evaluation service to be the equivalent of a U.S. degree.

Responsibilities

• Involves application development, prototyping, modeling and high level technical consulting.
• Perform 'what-if' analysis to simulate network stress test and survivability.
• Predict effects of configuration changes, identify applications bottlenecks and opportunities to optimize performance.
• Provides resolutions to an extensive range of complicated problems. Solutions are innovative, thorough, and practicable.
• Works under limited direction Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
• Represents the organization as the principal customer contact on contracts and often performs project leadership role.
• Interacts with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters frequently requiring coordination across organizational lines.
