Job summary

Sovereign Code, the Los Angeles–based brand behind Fly By Night, is hiring a Sr. Technical Designer / Production Design specialist.

You will craft production tech packs, comment on various production samples, and coordinate with design and production teams to meet buyer expectations. Must have 5+ years of apparel production/design experience, strong Illustrator skills, and familiarity with grading and specs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in apparel production/design
• Adobe Illustrator proficiency required
• Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
• Knowledge of garment construction
• Knowledge of garment grading and specs
• Ability to identify fit issues and provide solutions
• Pre-production experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Create production tech packs for men’s, women’s, boys and girls garments – including sketches, bill of materials, and fit spec information (in Adobe Illustrator).
• Comment on production samples – including handlooms, strike-offs, lab dips, fit samples, pre-production samples, and top of production samples.
• Collaborate with design, merchandise, and production team to ensure production meets buyer standards.
• Communicate with overseas vendors regularly (comments turnaround 1–2 days).
• Adhere to production calendar and deadlines while maintaining WIPs.
• Emphasize speed and quality of communication.
