Job summary

Vervic Inc. in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Application Performance Engineer to diagnose and optimize performance across OS, middleware, and network layers.

You will analyze DNS, load balancers, firewalls and architecture to remove bottlenecks, collaborate with development, systems and network teams, and drive remediation. You will mentor junior engineers and own optimization projects from root cause to resolution.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in performance optimization, systems or network engineering.
• Active TS clearance; ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• DoD 8140 compliance required.
• Senior-level ownership and accountability demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and optimize application performance end-to-end from OS to packet level.
• Analyze DNS, load balancers, firewalls, and app architecture to find bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with development, systems, and network teams to implement fixes.
• Perform root cause analysis for latency, throughput and availability issues.
• Mentor less-senior engineers in monitoring and performance troubleshooting.
