Job summary

Google Cloud Public Sector is seeking an Application Modernization Customer Engineering Specialist in the United States. You will guide customers through assessments, propose modernization roadmaps, and help migrate to hybrid-cloud environments to improve productivity and collaboration.

You will collaborate with sales, product, and engineering teams, run prototyping workshops, and travel to customer sites to advocate for Google Cloud. Strong technical and presentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience reading/debugging code and in virtualization/orchestration frameworks.
• 5 years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customer needs, triaging technical issues.
• Experience engaging with technical stakeholders or executive leaders.

Responsibilities

• Guide customers through assessments of their existing legacy applications and propose modernization roadmaps.
• Structure and execute prototyping workshops to validate architectures and document requirements.
• Travel to customer sites and events as required, advocating for Google Cloud.
• Use coding, debugging, or systems design to resolve blockers and accelerate deployment.
