Job summary

Adaptive Solutions Group is seeking a Senior API Test Engineer in the Greater St. Louis area for a 1+ year remote contract.

The role focuses on validating API-driven applications, integrations, and data-centric solutions, with emphasis on test plans, data validation, and end-to-end quality assurance. The candidate will design and execute API, integration, and data validation tests, using Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI specifications, within Agile teams.

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Must reside in St. Louis, Missouri area.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• 8+ years of software testing and QA experience.
• 5+ years testing APIs, integrations, and data-centric apps in enterprise environments.
• Strong experience creating test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
• Proven experience testing REST APIs using Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Ability to design and execute API/integration/data validation testing from requirements and API documentation.
• Experience working in Agile software development teams.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and test case management tools, preferably Zephyr.

Responsibilities

• Lead API testing efforts and validate performance, reliability, and data integrity of API-driven applications.
• Analyze business requirements and design/maintain test plans, cases, and data.
• Build and execute Postman collections to validate API functionality.
• Collaborate with project teams as a technical QA resource.
