Job summary

Adaptive Solutions Group is seeking a Senior API Test Engineer in the Greater St. Louis area for a 1+ year remote contract.

The role focuses on validating API-driven applications, integrations, and data-centric solutions, with emphasis on test plans, data validation, and end-to-end quality assurance. The candidate will design and execute API, integration, and data validation tests, using Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI specifications, within Agile teams.

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Must reside in St. Louis, Missouri area.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• 8+ years of software testing and QA experience.
• 5+ years testing APIs, integrations, and data-centric apps in enterprise environments.
• Strong experience creating test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
• Proven experience testing REST APIs using Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Ability to design and execute API/integration/data validation testing from requirements and API documentation.
• Experience working in Agile software development teams.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and test case management tools, preferably Zephyr.

Our top client in the transportation industry is searching for a Senior API Test Engineer to join their team! The Senior Test Engineer serves as a technical quality leader responsible for validating the performance, reliability, and integrity of API-driven applications, system integrations, and data-centric solutions. You will analyze business requirements, design and maintain test plans/cases/data, and build and execute Postman collections to validate API funcionality. This is a great opportunity to help improve overall testing quality while serving as a technical resource and trusted partner to the broader project team!

We are only able to consider candidates currently living in the Greater St. Louis, MO area for this position. Relocation will not be considered.

• Demonstrated ability to independently design and execute API, integration, and data validation testing from business requirements, technical specifications, and API documentation without reliance on developer-created test scripts, Postman collections, or validation queries.
• Experience testing applications where APIs, integrations, and data services represent the primary interface, with limited or no traditional user interface available for validation.
• Experience performing end-to-end data validation and business-rule verification across multiple systems.
• Experience working within Agile software development teams.
• Proven experience using Jira, Confluence, and test case management tools, preferably Zephyr.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
• Experience working with Salesforce applications and integrations.
• Experience with API test automation.
• Experience using Karate for API testing and automation.
