Job summary

MaintainX, the mobile-first work execution platform, seeks a Senior Software Developer for the API Platform and Ecosystem. You will design, build, and operate public REST APIs and enterprise connectors, ensuring consistency, scalability, and strong developer experience.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend systems, APIs, or platform products.
• Strong experience with service-oriented backend development and one of the following languages: TypeScript, Go, C#.
• Strong experience working with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) including schema design and data modeling.
• Solid foundation in distributed systems fundamentals: reliability, scalability, consistency, and failure modes.
• Experience shipping production-grade APIs with strong developer experience considerations.
• Strong testing mindset (unit, integration, end-to-end, and contract testing) and hands-on CI/CD experience.
• Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Design, and customer-facing teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate MaintainX’s public-facing REST APIs with a focus on consistency and scalability.
• Implement platform standards: authentication, rate limiting, versioning, filtering, pagination, idempotency, and backwards compatibility.
• Design robust batch and bulk API operations for enterprise data synchronization.
• Decouple REST from monolithic dependencies and ensure contract testing for GraphQL vs REST stability.
• Build scaffolding, templates, and shared libraries for connectors/integration development.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and quality gates for integrations.
• Produce developer documentation and reference implementations (SDKs).
• Contribute to hosting integrations in internal/external marketplaces.
• Build standardized integration foundations for enterprise systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Own production services end-to-end: monitoring, on-call, incident response, root-cause analysis, and hardening.
• Drive performance tuning and reliability using SLIs/SLOs and metrics.
