Job summary

Vantor in Arlington, VA is seeking a software engineer for secure, scalable applications and APIs. You will design, develop, test, and deploy Java and Python services, emphasizing API design, data storage, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years of experience, strong API, cloud, and security fundamentals, and an active Secret clearance with TS/CI Poly eligibility; familiarity with AWS/Azure/GCP and Docker/Kubernetes is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years of experience.
• Active Secret clearance with TS/SCI CI Poly eligibility.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python with Spring Boot/Flask/Django.
• Strong understanding of API architectural styles (REST, GraphQL, SOAP) and API tools (Postman, Swagger).
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Git and agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Software Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy robust and scalable applications and APIs using Java and Python.
• API Design and Integration: Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices with secure communications.
• Database Management: Work with SQL and NoSQL databases for storage and retrieval.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with frontend, product, and QA teams to define requirements and integrate components.
• Performance optimization and security: Improve performance and ensure secure data handling and API authentication.
• Cloud Integration (Optional): Integrate cloud services for cloud-native solutions.
• Maintenance and support: Provide ongoing support and enhancements for existing apps and APIs.
