Job summary

W.S. Darley & Co. seeks a Senior Business Development Manager to support and expand our Aberdeen Proving Ground portfolio.

A retired or senior Army officer or NCO with deep military ops and acquisition knowledge will lead strategy, identify opportunities, and build trusted relationships with government and industry partners on-site in the APG area of Aberdeen, MD. The role emphasizes engaging Army acquisition program management and industry partners, driving deals, and expanding Darley’s APG

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.
Master's degree preferred in business or defense fields.
Top Secret clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

Understand Darley products, services, contract benefits and value proposition in sales activities.
Achieve booked order goals.
Build credibility with senior government and industry decision makers.
Identify new contracts; pursue upstream opportunities.
Research customer buying habits using historical data.
Deliver concise briefs; persuade customers to use Darley as Prime Vendor.
Coordinate with VP of Sales & BD for multi-person pursuit.
Develop strong relationships with military customers at all levels.
Provide solutions and guidance on contracting vehicles and funding methods.
Generate quotes and transition to Inside Sales/HQ teams.
Partner with suppliers to meet customer requirements.
Brainstorm innovative strategies to win business.
Maintain accurate records in Salesforce of accounts and opportunities.
Represent Darley professionally at trade shows and meetings.
Conduct cold calls to prospect new business.
Coordinate with support teams to ensure timely delivery of orders.
Follow up on closed sales to ensure delivery and quality.
Monitor market and competitor activities.
