Job summary

Confidential in New York is seeking a hands-on Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join the accounting team. You will own key AP activities from invoice review and payment processing through reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close.

You will work independently in a fast-moving environment, applying strong accounting fundamentals and driving process improvements while partnering with teams across the organization. Prior SAP/S4HANA and Concur Invoice experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• 5–7 years of progressive AP and/or accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of AP operations, GL accounting, reconciliations, and close procedures.
• Experience with SAP/S4HANA and Concur Invoice highly desirable.
• Advanced Excel capabilities and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day processing of service-related and inventory invoices.
• Manage invoice workflows within Concur, including coding, documentation, and approvals.
• Process and validate SAP S/4HANA invoice data before posting.
• Investigate discrepancies between invoices, payments, and records and coordinate resolution.
• Act as primary resource for vendors and internal partners on AP status and questions.
• Review AP aging and clear past-due balances; coordinate scheduled payment activity.
• Record AP journal entries and ensure proper GL treatment.
• Prepare monthly AP analyses, schedules, and management reporting.
• Assist with monthly and annual close processes, including accruals.
• Support internal/external audits with schedules and documentation.
• Improve AP procedures and controls; collaborate cross-functionally.
• Educate internal partners on AP policies and payment practices.
