Job summary

Cowboy Space Corporation in San Carlos, CA is seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist to build and scale financial operations supporting engineering and supply chain teams. You will manage high-volume accounts payable and ensure timely processing of vendor invoices while maintaining internal controls and policy compliance.

Responsibilities include two-way and three-way matching, reviewing invoicing, resolving discrepancies, coordinating with vendors, monitoring AP aging, processing reimbursements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in a high-volume AP environment.
• Experience using Ramp for AP, invoice processing, and vendor payments.
• Experience with PO/P2P workflows and three-way matching.
• Experience processing hundreds of invoices per month with accuracy.
• Experience with inventory accounting and high-volume purchasing environments.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP system familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Perform two-way and three-way matching of invoices, POs, and receiving documents.
• Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documents.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, pricing variances, and unmatched transactions.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to resolve payment and PO-related issues.
• Monitor AP aging and ensure timely payment of invoices.
• Process employee expense reimbursements and corporate card transactions, as applicable.
• Maintain vendor master records and ensure accurate vendor information.
• Prepare and process weekly payment runs, including ACH, wire transfers, and checks.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities by reconciling AP balances and accruals.
• Assist with 1099 reporting, sales tax and property tax filing and year-end vendor tax compliance.
• Maintain organized AP records for audit support.
• Respond to vendor inquiries professionally and resolve payment issues promptly.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
• Prepare and post monthly AP accrual journal entries for goods and services received but not yet invoiced.
• Assist with prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other month-end accounting activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
