Job summary

Texas Children's seeks an Anesthesia Technician II to support anesthesia providers and the interdisciplinary team in multiple locations including ORs and Cath Lab. The role demands independence and mentoring of other techs, with responsibilities spanning equipment setup, monitoring prep, airway management, and maintaining sterile supplies.

The ideal candidate has a relevant anesthesia tech training program and strong BLS certification, with prior experience to guide procedures and troubleshoot

Qualifications

• Requires HS Diploma or GED.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• CER-A-T ASATT or equivalent anesthesia tech training program.
• Associated degree or higher in anesthesia technology preferred.
• 5 years of anesthesia tech experience can substitute for CER-A-T.

Responsibilities

• Performs and assists with procedures.
• Assists anesthesiologist with neurophysiologic monitors prep and placement.
• Assists with induction by connecting patient to monitors.
• Assists with intubation and airway maintenance.
• Inserts IVs and other invasive lines as needed.
• Prepares and sets up anesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Maintains inventory and cleans anesthesia supplies and equipment.
• Ensures equipment is in good working order and within expiration dates.

Education
