Job summary

American IT Systems is seeking a seasoned Android engineer to build and maintain features for Home Protection experiences in the United States. You will collaborate with product, backend, and device teams to deliver end-to-end solutions and contribute to app architecture and high-leverage technical decisions.

You will write clean Kotlin, use modern Android frameworks, and explore dynamic UI driven by backend JSON schemas (SDD).

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience with Spec-Driven Development (SDD) or building UI frameworks driven dynamically by backend JSON schemas.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and managing complex client-side state logic.
• Familiarity with MVVM, Clean Architecture, or similar architecture patterns.
• Solid debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Android features for Home Protection experiences.

• Contribute to app architecture, design discussions, and high-leverage technical decisions.
• Write clean, maintainable Kotlin code using modern Android frameworks, while utilizing cross-platform frameworks where appropriate.

• Improve app performance, reliability, and user experience across hardware/software integration layers.
• Debug and resolve complex production and connectivity issues.
• Participate in code reviews and support a culture of continuous improvement.
