Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to design, build, and evolve high-quality Android experiences using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks. This role will own consequential technical decisions and partner closely with product, design, backend, quality, and iOS peers to ship reliable customer value.

The ideal candidate has deep Android expertise and enough hands-on iOS experience to reason about platform tradeoffs, review shared mobile patterns, and occasionally contribute targeted

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional Android software engineering with ownership of production apps.
• Advanced Kotlin skills and deep Android framework knowledge.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own design and implementation of complex Android features from discovery through post-release monitoring.
• Set and evolve technical direction for Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, app architecture, and modularization.
• Write technical designs and surface tradeoffs, risks, and dependencies.
• Build accessible, responsive interfaces with product design and research.
• Improve automated testing across unit, integration, UI, and end-to-end layers.
• Strengthen observability, performance, crash health, security, and release confidence for the Android app.
• Collaborate with backend and platform teams on API contracts, offline behavior, authentication, and analytics.
• Mentor engineers and raise code quality without bottleneck.
