Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Team Lead for its Android platform in a fully remote role. You will own major features end to end, review pull requests, and unblock the team to deliver high-quality, reliable software.

The ideal candidate has hands-on leadership, extensive Kotlin expertise, and a track record of shipping background audio experiences. You will collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to push Android UI/UX beyond the spec, while growing junior engineers and improving automation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years software engineering experience with hands-on leadership.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin and Android architecture patterns.
• Experience shipping and maintaining background audio features.
• Solid testing mindset and emphasis on quality.
• Proven ability to drive changes while staying hands-on.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with product/design/engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end from design to release.
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Review PRs and provide constructive feedback.
• Unblock the team and drive alignment across surfaces.
• Lead planning and ensure efficient, automated verification.
