Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Team Lead Android role to own core product features and raise how the team works around them. You will write code, review code, and own features end-to-end while guiding the team to deliver reliable, high-quality releases.

This hands-on position requires shipping features, maintaining performance, and mentoring engineers in a distributed, fast-paced environment. Strong Kotlin and Android experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on leadership
• Rock solid Kotlin, Coroutines, Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM and Clean Architecture
• Experience shipping and maintaining background audio or other long-running background work
• Ability to drive design decisions and mentor engineers

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, from design to release with design collaboration
• Review PRs and provide constructive feedback
• Unblock the team when progress stalls
• Ensure reliability metrics for key features
• Maintain shared components and prevent version sprawl
• Lead planning and coordinate with Product, Design and Engineering
• Deliver nightly builds for QA and production readiness
• Help junior engineers grow through hands-on guidance
