Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Team Lead for our Android platform. You will own major features end to end, write and review code, and guide the team toward reliable releases. You’ll help shape architecture, advocate for tests, and collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver high‑impact experiences.

You’ll supervise a hands‑on team focused on Kotlin, MVVM, and Jetpack Navigation, ensuring quality and timely delivery while mentoring engineers and improving the app and codebase.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on leadership.
• Strong Kotlin fluency and Android architecture discipline (MVVM, Clean Architecture).
• Proven track record shipping long‑running background work and media features.
• Excellent testing mindset and ability to drive quality through tests.
• Ability to drive change with minimal friction and strong collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own major Android features end to end from spec to release.
• Maintain reliability metrics and code quality across features.
• Review PRs with constructive feedback and mentoring.
• Unblock teammates and drive efficient decision making.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering early in planning.
• Lead release planning, automation, and nightly QA builds.
• Mentor junior engineers and grow team capabilities.
