Job summary

OpenAI in New York is seeking a Senior Data Analyst/Engineer within the Go-to-Market Data team to build data-driven insights and scalable data products that inform strategy and decision-making across GTM functions.

You will own metrics, collaborate with GTM partners, design data models, pipelines, and dashboards, and leverage Python, SQL, and BI tools to deliver self-service analytics while producing durable data products.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in a data role within fast-moving, results-oriented organizations.
• Proven ability to structure ambiguous problems from framing to execution.
• Strong autonomy, resourcefulness, and creativity under constraints.
• Excellent judgement in prioritizing competing requests and investments.
• Deep SQL expertise with large datasets and ETL design experience.
• Experience with AI-assisted development and scalable data products.

Responsibilities

• Partner with GTM teams to translate business needs into data models, metrics, analyses, and scalable solutions.
• Define and operationalize metrics guiding planning and day-to-day decisions.
• Lead cross-functional data projects and set data strategy for new domains.
• Build scalable data models and pipelines from multiple sources to trusted datasets.
• Create dashboards, reports, and self-service tools enabling stakeholders to answer questions independently.
• Own metrics and data products from exploration through production and maintenance.
• Communicate complex findings with clear narratives through memos, dashboards, and presentations.
