Job summary

Norm Ai in New York City is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to own analytics data products and turn prototypes into production-grade models and metrics.

You will collaborate with the data team as well as GTM and Finance, designing reusable models, ensuring access controls, and guiding Lightdash agent instructions. This role requires 5+ years of experience, strong SQL and Python, and production dbt work. Hybrid in-office schedule is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of analytics engineering or equivalent experience in production dbt projects with tests, CI, incremental models, and documentation.
• Strong dimensional modeling judgment with conformed entities and facts at the correct grain.
• Experience delivering a metrics or semantic layer used by people and tools with safe data access controls.
• Familiarity with AI coding agents and ability to verify outputs and know when not to rely on them.
• Strong SQL skills and Python experience to understand pipelines and build transformations.
• Clear technical writing for model documentation and metric definitions.

Responsibilities

• Own analytics data products across internal business functions.
• Design and maintain reusable intermediate models, gold models, metrics, access controls, tests, documentation, and guidance for Lightdash agents.
• Turn ideas into production data products by defining requirements, validating results, and publishing them.
• Publish data mappings, unmatched records, assumptions, and quality checks to keep conflicts visible.
• Deliver changes through the full production process, including SQL, dbt tests, Lightdash metadata, access rules, and AI agent instructions.
• Diagnose incorrect or stale results and collaborate with data engineering when issues sit below the serving layer.
• Review modeling changes, pair with teammates, and help maintain shared standards.
