Job summary

Slalom is seeking an Analytics Engineer to bridge business needs and technical solutions within the Data Experience practice. You will design semantic layers, develop data-rich apps with Power BI, Tableau, Sigma, and open-source tools, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data models.

The role emphasizes data modeling, SQL and Python proficiency, governance, and analytics enablement, with hybrid work and travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in analytics engineering or data engineering.
• 3–5 years of leading project teams and complex work streams.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with semantic layer tools and analytics platforms (dbt, Looker, Power BI, Tableau, Sigma).
• Strong data modeling and ETL knowledge.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and modernize semantic layers for self-service analytics and cross-platform reporting.
• Develop data-rich apps blending Power BI/Tableau with open-source tools like Streamlit.
• Lead design sessions translating insights into data models and solutions.
• Develop and optimize data models using SQL, Python, or similar languages.
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to ensure data quality and alignment with business goals.
• Implement data integration, governance, and analytics enablement.
• Deliver integrated analytics experiences beyond dashboards.
• Stay current with emerging tools and techniques in analytics engineering, AI, and data platforms.
